Whistleblower disclosures

Unrecorded channel for protected disclosures under the Aged Care Act 2024 (Cth)

If you want to make a protected disclosure about misconduct, mistreatment, or non-compliance involving Koora or a provider on the Koora platform, please use the email channel below. This channel is not recorded or transcribed.

Why we keep this channel separate

Our normal phone line records and transcribes calls for support and quality purposes. Recording can chill protected disclosures. Section 549 of the Aged Care Act 2024 protects whistleblowers from retaliation, and we want to remove every barrier to reporting, including the chilling effect of being recorded.

How to make a disclosure

Email whistleblower@koora.care with as much detail as you can share. You can use a personal email address; you do not need to identify yourself.

Useful information to include if you have it:

  • What happened, when, and where
  • Who was involved (worker, provider, participant if relevant)
  • Whether you have already raised the issue with the provider or with a regulator (Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission)
  • How you would like Koora to follow up
  • How (or whether) you want to be contacted

What happens next

Disclosures are reviewed by Justin Tankey, founder. We will acknowledge receipt within two business days, investigate confidentially, and update you on outcomes if you have asked us to stay in touch. We will not retaliate against you and will protect your identity to the extent the law allows.
