NDIS Code of Conduct
The conduct rules binding NDIS workers and providers, enforceable by the NDIS Commission.
The NDIS Code of Conduct sets out the behaviour expected of workers and providers delivering NDIS supports and services. It covers acting with respect, providing safe and competent supports, being honest, protecting privacy, and acting promptly to raise and respond to concerns.
For workers, the Code applies to you whether you work directly for a provider, through an agency, or independently. Breaching it can lead to action by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, including banning orders that stop you from working in the sector. Completing the free NDIS Worker Orientation Module is a common way to show you understand what the Code expects.
For providers, the Code is part of your registration conditions and your duty of care to participants. You are expected to make sure your workforce understands and follows it, and to act when something goes wrong. The Commission can investigate complaints and apply compliance action against both workers and organisations.
Koora reviews the screening and orientation evidence that sits alongside the Code as part of a Career Passport, while the provider keeps the legal responsibility for conduct and compliance.
This is general information, not compliance advice. Always confirm requirements with the relevant regulator, and remember that providers keep the legal responsibility to sight credentials and decide who can work.
We work hard to keep it accurate, but the rules change and we will not always get every detail right. If you think something here needs updating, email us at resources@koora.care. We would genuinely rather know, because we all do better when we help each other get it right.
