NDIS Worker Orientation Module
A free online module, Quality Safety and You, introducing the NDIS Code of Conduct; orientation, not a screening check.
The NDIS Worker Orientation Module, titled "Quality, Safety and You", is a free online course developed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. It introduces workers to the NDIS Code of Conduct and explains the rights of people with disability and what good support looks like in practice. It takes around 90 minutes and ends with a certificate of completion.
It is important to understand what this module is not. It is orientation and education, not a background check. Completing it does not screen your history and does not replace an NDIS Worker Screening Check, which is the actual clearance providers rely on. Police history is bundled into the screening check, so the module sits alongside that process rather than substituting for any part of it.
For workers, the module is a quick way to show you understand the Code of Conduct, and many providers ask for the certificate during onboarding. For providers, recording completion is good practice, but it should never be confused with a screening clearance. Keep the worker screening check and the orientation certificate as separate items in your records.
This is general information, not compliance advice. Always confirm requirements with the relevant regulator, and remember that providers keep the legal responsibility to sight credentials and decide who can work.
We work hard to keep it accurate, but the rules change and we will not always get every detail right. If you think something here needs updating, email us at resources@koora.care. We would genuinely rather know, because we all do better when we help each other get it right.
